FSCDI & Rotary Club of NY Appreciate Healthcare Heroes at Elmhurst Hospital

Earlier this month, The Foundation for Sustainable Community Development Initiatives (FSCDI) and the Rotary Club of NY collaborated in appreciating Essential Workers at Elmhurst Hospital.

The NYC Health+Hospital’s Elmhurst Hospital, which was referred to as the “epicenter” of the pandemic in Queens, has received ample community support during the sudden emergence of COVID-19 pandemic challenge.

On a bright sunny afternoon in front of the Main entrance to Elmhurst Hospital, the Rotary Club and FSCDI commissioned local Silver Spoon diner to donate 100 individually packed lunches; including vegetarian meals, salads and assorted beverages in the form of boxes of juices, sodas, and bottled waters was donated to the hospital.

Mr. Zimmerman, COO of Elmhurst Hospital, Dr. Joseph R. Masci, Chairman of Global Health at Elmhurst, George Leconte, Senior Associate Executive Director Ancillary Services, and Claire J. Patterson, Senior Associate Executive Director NYC Health + Hospitals Elmhurst welcomed the donation.

Hon. Jeffrion Aubry, Member of the New York State Assembly also thanked the front-line workers and presented $25 Uber Gift Certificates to the frontline.

Dr. George Onuorah, CEO of FSCDI Inc., commended the front-line workers for their diligent service and for saving lives.

“The Mission of FSCDI is to empower and strengthen communities on a local and global level, specifically Africa, helping them engage in economic sustainability that will foster development and long term positive changes in the communities we serve,” said Dr. Onuorah.
