When Life Gives You Lemons…

BY THOMAS GRECH

PRESIDENT & CEO

It’s odd when you think just how busy we once were with normal activities. Rushing off to meetings, dealing with traffic during the daily commute, doing business and trying to figure out how to manage it all.

little more than eight weeks has passed since the most diverse area in the world went on pause. Those things we once pondered are no more. As you continue to adapt to our new normal, the Queens Chamber is working tirelessly on your behalf during these challenging times.

Over the past month, we’ve hosted several town halls designed to provide you with relevant information and resources. During these virtual sessions, we’ve been joined by members of Congress, including Greg Meeks, Carolyn Maloney, Tom Suozzi, Hakeem Jeffries, and Grace Meng, as well as a host of City Council and state legislators, including State Senator Joe Addabbo, Councilman Eric Ulrich, and Assembly members Stacey Pheffer Amato and Mike Miller.

Aside from town halls, Chamber staff has continued to create virtual meeting opportunities to provide you with relevant resources to help navigate through this new normal.

We are proactively planning ahead for “Day One,” which is when business starts to reopen, and how we as a Chamber will strategically play a role in that process. Visit queenschamber.org, where you’ll find the link “Queens Coronavirus Updates.” Here we’ve listed information about Queens Businesses of the Week, grants and loan resources, as well as available webinars.

When life gives you lemons, I wholeheartedly believe you have to make lemonade. Thank you for continuing to support Queens Chamber. Stay healthy and strong!
