In 2007, the company expanded their process line by establishing a brand-new Pickling and Passivating system. This was made possible due to funding from the state Department of Economic Development’s Environmental Services Unit.
We also replaced the use of nitric acid with environmentally friendlier citric acid. Electropolishing improves the sterilization of the metal by reducing the total surface area and the contaminate adhesion process.
The process reduces surface susceptibility, increasing the metal’s resistance to harmful bacteria. This is particularly crucial in limiting the spread of diseases like COVID-19. The result is a clean and uniform micro-finish that is bright and highly reflective.
